In Search of Water,
2026
In this work, I explore my lifelong fascination with glitter, snails, and clear water. Glitter, in particular, evokes a strong sense of joy for me. For this series, I commissioned crafters to recreate my photographs as diamond paintings, and I also cut up and reused second-hand diamond paintings, wrapping them around empty tape rolls.
The spiral form refers to a desire to surround myself with glitter, while most of the sparkle remains hidden inside the roll. In this way, the work explores both the urge to decorate and embellish the world and the sense of shame that can accompany that desire.
